About
Dorothy H. Price is a writer. She claimed that title at 11 when her big sister gifted her with a journal for her birthday. She still has it, along with a crate full of others she's written in over the years. From songs to poems to short stories, to novels to TV shows to plays, Dorothy has written ‘em all. Then, one day in 2008, she got an idea for a picture book. A year later, she was still writing picture books. She couldn’t stop. After joining SCBWI in 2010, it was clear she and kidlit were meant to be!
Her first picture book, NANA'S FAVORITE THINGS, was published by Eifrig Publishing in 2016. In 2019, two of her stories were published in Teaching Tolerance's Teaching Hard History series, a project of the Southern Poverty Law Center. That same year, Dorothy was one of three picture book authors out of more than 100 applicants selected for the We Need Diverse Books Mentorship Program. Her first chapter book series, JALEN'S BIG CITY LIFE, released on August 1, 2022 by Capstone Publishing.
